Leadership Roles and Skills in Program Development

For this assignment, you will examine how leadership roles and skills, including building partnerships and community collaboration, impacts program planning, design, and development. Program design and planning include understanding the culture and values of organizations (nonprofit agencies). The various leadership roles and skills (human relations, communication, conflict resolution, etc.) needed to develop programs effectively. It also requires skills in building community partnerships and collaboration within nonprofit agencies and in the community.

Assignment Directions
Before you begin your assignment, reflect upon what inspired you to enter the field of human services and what social problem and areas of human services you are most passionate about addressing in your future career. Then, please write a paper based on leadership roles and skills in program development, ensuring your responses reflect professional standards and expectations in the field.
Please addresses each of the following:
1.    Identify a proposed program within a nonprofit agency that you could potentially develop in the future that addresses this social problem(s). Research at least one similar program or policy anywhere in the United States or the world.
2.    Discuss four specific leadership roles and skills that will be needed to develop this program. Two of these must include the skills of building partnerships and community collaboration, while the other two you may select on your own.
3.    Explain how the leadership skills you have identified help you address organizational values and culture.
4.    Examine how the four leadership roles and skills you identified impact each of the following: program planning, design, and development.
